The Weapons and Ammunition Subsector has been provided with a suitable dimension and structure. It has proved to be highly competitive and its export capacity is extremely high. Its products cover a whole range of light, medium and heavy weapons as well as gunpowder and explosives, bombs, grenades, ammunition and missile systems.

Land Platforms Subsector
Company consolidation has meant a reorganisation of the sector. This in turn has led to an evolution from maintenance and transformation to systems and own vehicle development and production. Most outstanding are the armoured and non-armoured vehicles, tactical vehicles and vehicle components.

Aerospace Subsector
Its cutting-edge technological level incorporates civil and military production with heavy investment in R&D. A large percentage of its production is exported, with areas of excellence that are leaders in Europe. Most outstanding are transport, training and combat aircraft, helicopter maintenance, aeronautical components and space systems.

Naval Platforms Subsector
A highly competitive Subsector boasting a major international projection after a ground-up restructuring and technological boost. Its production ranges from warship building (aircraft carriers, frigates, minesweepers and submarines) to amphibious craft, logistic support craft, oceanographic and surveillance ships (medium and light patrol craft).

Electronics, Optics, Communications and I.T. Subsector
The sector with the highest growth rate, with a company concentration that has given it greater dimension and technological capability. Its international joint venture policy and dual technology development have made this Subsector a leader in areas of excellence such as Electronic Warfare, Command and Control, radars, communication systems, simulators and trainers.

Engineering, Services and Miscellaneous Subsector
This Subsector is made up of companies that specifically develop engineering and research activities, covering fields such as systems maintenance, repair and updating, mathematical life cycle models, image digitalisation and treatment and integrated logistic support in areas of spares management and storage.

Security Material and Specialised Equipment Subsector
Consisting of companies involved in design and manufacture of collective security and individual protection elements (anti-fragmentation vests, parachutes) and specialised equipment (tents, electricity generation and field illumination).
